The COPEKIT® Mission
Stress and trauma disrupt our minds, emotions and bodies. These disruptions vary in configuration, intensity and duration. They have implications for our sense of self, our relationships, our school, work and community functioning. This “disrupted state” naturally seeks a return to normal. This is the COPING Response. When healthy coping skills are not in place, the impact is catastrophic. Stress and trauma are the leading causes of unhealthy coping resulting in widespread impairment, suffering and loss of life. This risk trajectory can be broken with healthy coping skills training and intervention.
The COPEKIT® mission is to equip children and adults with healthy coping skills through innovative product design and delivery. We bring heathy coping tools into the full spectrum of life, from daily activities to crisis settings.
Who are we? We are you.
We are teachers, crisis counselors, first responders, coaches, artists, athletes. We are also parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, friends.
We, like you, know stress and trauma. We have lived it - and we are living it. We know unhealthy coping and the suffering it brings. We know healthy coping and the work it takes to achieve it. This lived and professional experience, combined with our research and design, guides our innovation.
