COPEKIT® CRISIS KIT contains trauma informed coping skills and tools providing psychological first aid for children during or after stress/trauma events. Crisis settings can be chaotic, unpredictable, and dangerous environments with limited to no behavioral health resources available for children. Facilitating active coping during and/or after a stress or trauma event can establish children on a healthy coping trajectory, reducing the risk of maladaptive behavior. Kit is a self-contained coping resource. Teddy bear, toy, crayons and paper are supported by COPECARD® coping skills. This integration increases efficacy and facilitates ease of deployment.
Teddy Bear: Non-domestic animal (to protect children who have lost a pet). Provides comfort, promotes self-soothing, empowers child as caregiver, shifts attention away from stressor(s), promotes engagement with care providers.
Fidget Toy: provides stress relief, occupation; promotes hand movement
Paper/Crayons: promotes self-expression through art and writing
8” x 6” x 3” Clear Bag enables child to see contents, lowering child’s hypervigilance in receiving the kit. Meets all legal requirements for Clear Bag Policies. Zipper closure. 6” handles.
